Open innovation sounds complex, but it doesn't have to be

Let’s learn together, shall we?

What can I do with LiveCities?

LiveCities is a crowdsourcing platform for open innovation. What does this mean? It means it is a digital environment in which individuals or organizations can connect to find contributions from other users to obtain needed services or ideas.

  • If you are a challenger, you can find those contributions for your project.
  • If you are a problem-solver, you can get involved in a challenge or project by sharing your knowledge or abilities, resources (equipment, underutilized infrastructure, etc), or useful information.

At the end, it is all about collaborating together to solve the challenges that concern us.

Can I download the app from google play store or app store?

Not just yet. We haven’t launched the app LiveCities for the public but we are making customized versions for universities, city councils and organizations in order to finance and further develop LiveCities before its official launch. Subscribe to our mailing list and we will give you the latest updates so that you can be the first to download it!

How much will it cost to download the app?

Nothing, it’s going to be completely FREE. There will be, however, premium paid features like posting private challenges, aimed just at a specific group of people, but the main features will be free and available to anyone.

What is Open Innovation 2.0 and why it matters?

Open Innovation 2.0 is a new paradigm based on the model of the Quadruple Helix Approach.Don’t panic, it’s not as complex as it sounds. Basically, the four helixes of the model are government, industry, academia and civil participants and the basic concept behind is that they need to work together to co-create the future and drive structural changes far beyond the scope of what any one organization or person could do alone. This model encompasses also user-oriented innovation models to take full advantage of ideas’ cross-fertilisation leading to experimentation and prototyping in real-world setting. LiveCities it is based on the Quadruple Helix Approach. We believe in a more open, flexible, and collaborative world, where people can join together to solve challenges and where innovation is practised by everyone, instead of just a few.
